Prices are reasonable, portions are massive, staff are very friendly - great hearty comfort meal.
Classic old Harry's style tasty pies, and you can still get the tiger pies with mash potato, mushy peas and gravy. Also sell an assortment of hotdogs, fries and desserts and shakes. Tasty food, fast service. Handy stop over point if your waiting to pick someone up from Sydney airport. Service was good, just the setting is on a busy road, and the shopfront could use a refresh.
Back in the 90s I used to eat this at Wooloomooloo. Now they have few other places and this time I tried the one in Tempe. Just about everything taste the same, but its the first time for me to try the burger which was not bad at all. Parking was easy plenty of spaces, not much waiting as well.
Been away few years and was excited to drop by for hot dogs. Used to love this when I was young, but I may have over grown Harry de wheels. The dog of the hotdog was softish and the buns were a little mushy and falling apart as I ate. The mashed peas were also not interesting nor the spicy bean meats. The minced beef pie was just salty but good memories. The hot sauce was still good, and the hot chips with chicken salts was still very good.
A nice hot pie on a cold rainy Sydney day! $7.50 for a pie is good value and it is chock full of piping hot filling. We ordered a Pepper Steak and Curry Beef pie. The server told us to take a seat in the small indoor booth dining area and that he would bring us out food which I thought was a really nice touch. Finally a pie with excellent structural integrity! A sturdy pie that doesn't fall apart as you eat it. Sauce is free (they put it on) which gets my vote because charging for sauce is unAustralian! Cool history and nostalgia with photos of celebs enjoying Harry's pies at Woolloomoolloo shown on the walls. Parking for about 10 cars out the front of the busy Princes Highway. Menu now includes hotdogs, burgers, loaded fries and rolls. The burgers looked really good!
